Savory Life Recipes publishes traditional dishes from around the world, written for a home kitchen. Each recipe names the dish and the place it comes from, says what goes into it there, and explains how to cook it with ingredients that ordinary supermarkets and international grocers sell.
What you will find here
- Named dishes, not generic ones. Plov from Uzbekistan, causa from Peru, piri piri chicken from Portugal and Mozambique, scrapple from Pennsylvania. The site is organised by region and country, so you can browse a cuisine the way you would a cookbook.
- Clear steps. Every recipe lists the ingredients with quantities and gives numbered steps, followed by tips, substitutions, storage and common questions.
- Safe temperatures. Where meat, poultry, seafood or eggs are cooked, recipes use the safe minimum internal temperatures published by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service. See our food safety notes.
- Kitchen conversions. Recipes from abroad often use grams, millilitres, °C or gas marks. The converter handles the common cases.
What we do not publish
We do not publish home canning or preserving instructions, health or medical claims about food, or claims about celebrities, restaurants or brands. We describe traditions carefully: where a dish has several regional versions, we say so rather than calling one “the only authentic” recipe.
Who runs this site
Savory Life Recipes is an independent website. It is not connected with any earlier website that used this domain name. Recipes are published by the site as an organisation, and no individual author is credited. How articles are prepared and checked is described in the editorial policy.
